Do you have a store front and hours of operation?

Everything we do is by Pre order.  Place your order online. We will notify you when your order is ready for pick up.

How do I place my order?

Please select the best share package for you and place your deposit.     This will reserve your 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 or Full share package.  Once we receive your deposit, you will receive a confirmation email. One week prior to your order being ready, we will email you the final invoice and schedule your pick-up date/time.

Is the meat cut and packaged?

 Absolutely.  Your share package is cut into individual cuts,  vacuum packaged and labeled with the name of the cut.

Is the meat frozen?

Yes.  To lock in the maximum freshness, all of your cuts are flash frozen immediately after butchering, vacuum packaged and frozen when we deliver or you pick up your order.

How long will the cuts keep in the freezer?

At least a year.

Can I cook the cuts “sous vide”  in the vacuum bags? 

The vacuum bags are NOT for cooking.  If you would like to cook in bags, you will need to repacked in cooking version bags.

What is the approximate freezer space needed to store 1/4 or 1/2 share?

1 cu ft = 12″ x 12″ x 12″ (think milk carton). 1/4 share (100 lbs) = 3.5 cu ft , 1/2 share (200lbs) = 7 cu ft

How do you pick the farmers who sell their shares through Homegrown Exchange Co.?

We interview each farmer to find out their farming practices. We also visit their farms to make sure that their processes are up to our standards. It is important that there is consistency and quality maintained with each farmer.
